Songs have a unique way of expressing our thoughts, almost as if the song-writer were reading our minds. That’s the reason why we create playlists, to hear those lyrics sung in loop, over and over again, in unison with our hearts.

Over 6 weeks in the summer, we are going to set our focus on selected songs from the book of Psalms. The collection will range from adoration to God, sorrow over sin, finding truth when the world seems right, waiting when He is silent, and confidence in God’s reign. Each week we will examine a different song on the playlist, understanding the writer, the words, and why we are able to sing in unison.

  • Each week’s content stands alone and will consist of a large group time to walk through the selected song followed by small group discussion to examine it further and apply.
  • Just bring your Bible and be blessed by poetry that reveals the heart of God.
  • Take advantage of this opportunity to invite friends who might not otherwise come to a Bible study.

The psalm schedule is:

June 13: Ps 1 “Stand in the Way”

June 20: Ps 62 “Waiting Room”

June 27: Ps 81 “Open Your Mouth”

July 11: Ps 51 “Against You”

July 18: Ps 49 “Pomp and Circumstance”

July 25: Ps 116 “Pay My Vows”
