Coming Up in Student Ministry:
- Saturday, August 22: Pool and Pickleball Party, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
It’s hot outside so come cool off in the pool or head inside to play pickleball! Or do neither and just hang out with friends and leaders! This event will be Saturday August 22, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at 449 Mitchell Rd. Lorena, TX 76655. Hot dogs will be provided. Girls bring drinks, and guys bring chips or cookies. Friends are always welcome! Join us for a fun relaxing evening together!

- Sunday, September 13: 2nd Sunday Picnic @ The Park, 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
We are excited to announce a new addition to the calendar for the fall - 2nd Sundays! These events are intentionally low-key with the goal that nothing feels overly programmed and it is easy to bring a friend. We wanted to create cheap, easy, and fun opportunities for fellowship and service. Students will bring their own lunch for the events in September-November. They will need money for lunch in December. The first 2nd Sundays! event will be Sunday September 13, 2026 - Picnic & Park Day (Woodway Park), 12:30-2:30 p.m. Please note, the time in the parent packet is incorrect. The correct end time of the event is 2:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, September 16: Water Wars Party, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, September 19: Sleep in Heavenly Peace service project, 8:00-1:30 p.m.
We are excited to announce our first service project of the school year! We will be building beds on Saturday September 19, 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for the non-profit Sleep In Heavenly Peace, which operates out of Meadowbrook Baptist church, 1207 N Old Robinson Rd. Robinson, TX.Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is the leading national non-profit dedicated to building and delivering beds to children in need. Our mission is simple: No Kid Sleeps On The Floor In Our Town! ® With millions of children sleeping on floors, couches, or makeshift spaces, we know a bed is a basic need for a child’s well-being, supporting their physical, emotional and mental development. Powered by volunteer kindness and donor generosity, we’re growing our impact across the U.S. and beyond so every child can Sleep Well and Dream Big! CLICK HERE to sign the Heavenly Peace waiver.
We will meet at the church at 8:00 a.m. and depart at 8:20 a.m. We will serve from 8:45 – 12:00. Afterwards, we will grab lunch on the way home and plan to arrive back at church by 1:30 p.m. If we finish early, arrival time will change and I will let you know. Your child will need money for a fast-food lunch. We are also looking for donations for bottled water, Gatorade, and breakfast snack items. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend this event as well! I will have more information soon regarding the vehicle waiver. We hope you can join us for this event!
Sunday Classes for Junior High & High School
Our One:Three student classes on Sundays take place during the second service, 10:45 a.m.-Noon. for both Junior High and High School classes.
Wednesday Nights
Our Reach program meets from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights during the school year. Our students will experience worship, relevant biblically based teaching, small groups separated by grade, and Christ-centered community and fellowship. Our hope is for students to be engaged with God's word and to actively practice their faith by inviting their friends to come alongside them.

Rooted Discipleship Groups
Rooted is our main discipleship program for high schoolers that meets off campus on different days of the week. Students who want to participate meet in small groups of their peers of the same gender where they “grow deep” with one another and are mentored by an older believer of their choosing. Rooted participants experience vulnerability as they discuss their lives and walk in accountability with one another, pray with one another, and discuss a topic such as Christian living, apologetics, identity, or cultural issues of the day. Our Vision
Our desire is to see every student experience and live out the LIFE they have in Christ! We aim for our students to have an intimate relationship with our creator, a consistent investment in one another's lives, a desire to practically live out the principles of God's word, and to play an active role in creating disciples. The ministry is grounded on 5 pillars: Discipleship, Evangelism, Service, Community, and Unity with the Church body. Students will find a welcoming atmosphere, relevant Biblical teaching, authentic small group environments, and a whole lot of fun! Come check us out!
Core Programs
Reach
This program aims to serve as an introduction into our ministry as we encourage our students to "Reach Out" to the greater Waco community. Reach is our main Wednesday night program, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Our students will experience worship, relevant biblically based teaching, small groups separated by grade, and Christ-centered community and fellowship. Our hope is for students to be engaged with God's word and to actively practice their faith by inviting their friends to come alongside them.
One:Three
This Sunday morning program is named after Psalm 1:3. This student bible study meets during the second service at 10:45 am and aims to focus on our students' Christian education. Students will increase in their biblical literacy as they begin to explore different books of the Bible in a more in-depth manner. Students will participate in a discussion-based curriculum that requires them to dig into the text in a way that involves critical thinking of underlying implications while applying it to their everyday personal lives. Students are divided by age group.
