Upcoming Events in Student Ministry

SM bake sale 2025

Students, our annual Bake Sale is Sunday, April 27! This is a fundraiser that can be used for our summer activities. There are two ways to earn funds: working the bake sale and bringing baked goods to be sold. Please use the link below to sign up to bring baked goods or to work. Space is limited to fill work spots and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to bring baked goods, please bring them to the south kitchen by 9:30am on April 27.

Student Ministry Color Blast 2025

Mark your calendars for Wednesday April 30, 6:30-8:30. The Color Blast Party has returned! You may be thinking, “What’s a color blast party?” I’m so glad you asked! It’s basically a wild, crazy event outside where we play fun, exciting, and creative games using color powder. Yes, this powder will get all over clothes and hair. It’s super messy and super memorable! Invite a friend and join the fun! More details to follow concerning dress code, pick up procedure, and things to bring to make it home without getting color powder all over your car! Stay tuned!

graduation 2025

We are so thankful for this special group of seniors. In my short time at Fellowship, I have been blessed by their maturity and Godly example to all the other students. For those of you that have invested in them and walked alongside them for many years, this is a celebration of their time at Fellowship and an encouraging send off as they venture out into the world. We will have a Wednesday night celebration on May 14 and a Sunday morning recognition on May 25.

Parents and students, please scan the QR code above or click the link below to fill out the form to have your student recognized. We also request a head shot, future plans, activities your senior was involved with (church, school, community), and a highlight from their time in student ministry, or something impactful they learned. Thanks for all your help with this!

The deadline to submit this form is May 4. No exceptions!

Sunday Classes for Junior High & High School

Our One:Three student classes on Sundays take place during the second service, 10:45 a.m.-Noon. The Junior High and High School classes are working through a series on the Old Testament book of Judges. Our time in this book will teach us timeless principles about the consequences when everyone does what is right in their own eyes. And even more, we'll be reminded that when we sin, God in His mercy and grace wants to restore the relationship between us.

NOTE: Student Ministry will not have Sunday Morning classes on Easter Sunday, April 20.

Wednesday Nights

Our Reach program meets from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights. Students in 7th-12th grades, please join us for fun, worship, separate teaching for Jr. High and High School, and small groups!

Currently, 7th and 8th graders are continuing their journey through the Bible narrative and will be in the book of 1 John.

The High School group is beginning a new series on Wednesday nights titled "The Old Testament Experience". We will learn about the character and nature of God as he works in and through the lives of Elijah, Esther, David, and Joseph. God is with us when we are afraid, alone, tempted, isolated, and not sure what to do. God is sovereign and has a plan and purpose in all things. God is gracious, forgiving and loves to bring about reconciliation. It is going to be a wonderful and exciting series!

Student Worship Team

To learn more about helping lead Fellowship students in worship, please contact Cori Taylor, Student Ministry Worship Associate, at cori.taylor@fellowshipwaco.org or (254) 242-6138. The worship team is open to 7th-12th grades.

Rooted Discipleship Groups

Rooted is our main discipleship program for high schoolers that meets off campus on different days of the week.  Students who want to participate meet in small groups of their peers of the same gender where they “grow deep” with one another and are mentored by an older believer of their choosing.  Rooted participants experience vulnerability as they discuss their lives and walk in accountability with one another, pray with one another, and discuss a topic such as Christian living, apologetics, identity, or cultural issues of the day.  If you have any questions about this vital part of our ministry, please contact our Rooted coordinator, Rachael Younger, at the.china.lady@gmail.com.

Our Vision

Our desire is to see every student experience and live out the LIFE they have in Christ! We aim for our students to have an intimate relationship with our creator, a consistent investment in one another's lives, a desire to practically live out the principles of God's word, and to play an active role in creating disciples. The ministry is grounded on 5 pillars: Discipleship, Evangelism, Service, Community, and Unity with the Church body. Students will find a welcoming atmosphere, relevant Biblical teaching, authentic small group environments, and a whole lot of fun! Come check us out!

Core Programs

Reach

This program aims to serve as an introduction into our ministry as we encourage our students to "Reach Out" to the greater Waco community. Reach is our main Wednesday night program, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Our students will experience worship, relevant biblically based teaching, small groups separated by grade, and Christ-centered community and fellowship. Our hope is for students to be engaged with God's word and to actively practice their faith by inviting their friends to come alongside them.

One:Three

This Sunday morning program is named after Psalm 1:3. This student bible study meets during the second service at 10:45 am and aims to focus on our students' Christian education. Students will increase in their biblical literacy as they begin to explore different books of the Bible in a more in-depth manner. Students will participate in a discussion-based curriculum that requires them to dig into the text in a way that involves critical thinking of underlying implications while applying it to their everyday personal lives. Students are divided by age group.

Rooted

Rooted is our main student discipleship program that meets off campus on different days of the week. High School students who choose to participate meet in small groups of their peers of the same gender where they "Grow Deep" with one another and are mentored by an older believer of their choosing. Students will experience vulnerability as they discuss their lives and walk in accountability with one another, pray with one another, and discuss a topic such as Christian living, apologetics, identity, or cultural issues of the day.
