BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Keeping Your Pitcher Full

Yes, we are called to love, serve, and pour into our families, our neighbors and even strangers, but we cannot give what we do not have. When we feel empty, there are ways to help us stay connected to the spring of living water to keep our pitcher full so that we can pour into the lives around us from our abundance, rather than our scarcity.

Rachael Younger: Rachael has been married to her best friend for nearly 19 years, and God has blessed them with two active boys to raise. She is a recovering perfectionist who is still learning what it means to be organized. Rachael is striving to be available to God for His work in her and as a conduit for the Holy Spirit in the lives of those around her. She loves to read, work with her hands and cultivate people and plants through hospitality and gardening.

The 1st Century Roman Empire

Ever wonder what it was like living in the Roman Empire during the first century? If the answer is yes, then this breakout session is for you! During this session we will explore the historical, archaeological, and cultural backdrop to the book Romans.

Dr. Angela Everett
PhD Archaeology & Biblical History, VIU-TEHEP:  Angela has excavated for years at a site in Jordan that she believes just might be Biblical Sodom. She loves taking what she learns from digging in the Holy Lands and showing others that the Bible is a reliable, historical document.
Angela teaches, holds speaking engagements, and travels as much as she can. She lives in a little cottage in Texas with her husband Zach, and together they have six children and six grands. You can follow her on Instagram @angela_the_archaeologist.

Connecting the Dots: Theology, Marriage, and Sex

Does God care about your marriage and your sex life? He cares a great deal about these topics because he created both marriage and sex to reflect his covenantal love for his people. We will look at the historic and the current cultural views of marriage and then examine how the Bible offers a much greater and more beautiful truth. By understanding God’s covenantal love displayed in marriage and sex, we can grow in our knowledge and love of God. We will discuss how these Biblical truths can be applied to strengthen our marriages and sanctify our hearts.

Danielle Todd
Teaching Shepherd—MomLIFE, Fellowship Bible Church:  Danielle has a degree in Psychology and Education from Lyon College. She has worked with children and families for the last 15 years and now writes home studies for foster and adoptive families. She loves studying and teaching the Bible to help families experience the amazing, heart-transforming love of Jesus. She and her husband, Jamie, have been members of Fellowship Bible Church for ten years. Danielle homeschools their three daughters.

Suzanne McPherson
Coordinator—MomLIFE, Fellowship Bible Church:  Suzanne holds a degree in Ministry from Bob Jones University and has served in a variety of ways within the local church. She loves learning from the Bible and sharing what she has learned. She and her husband, James, have been married for 12 years and have attended Fellowship Bible Church for the last eleven years. They have two boys and chickens.

Embrace Grace

Embrace Grace is a nonprofit organization that exists to provide support to pregnant single mothers and their families. Many women across the country discover they are pregnant and feel isolated and alone, often turning to abortion out of fear of the unknown. At Embrace Grace we believe that the church plays a huge role in solving that problem. Our mission is to equip and empower local churches through our support groups to love and support pregnant single mothers so that any woman facing an unplanned pregnancy has a church home she can go to for spiritual, emotional, and physical support.

Taylor Nowakowski
Central Texas Regional Representative for Embrace Grace:  Taylor is a devoted wife, mother, and Licensed Professional Counselor with a heart for helping others navigate life's challenges and find their true identity in Christ. Having faced an unplanned pregnancy during college, she understands the struggles of young single mothers and recognizes the crucial role the church’s support plays. As the Central Texas Regional Representative, Taylor collaborates with local churches and pregnancy centers to establish new Embrace Grace groups. She is passionate about fostering a safe and uplifting environment where women can experience hope, healing, strength, and fellowship as they embrace the journey of motherhood.

Living on Mission

As believers, we know we are called to live out the Great Commission in Matthew 28. However, as women, we often question what that looks like. After all, our to-do lists grow by the hour! This breakout session will focus on what it means to be an active disciple of Christ right here and now. As a former foreign missionary passionate about reaching the lost and now serving Jesus here in the States, Amanda will share what missions can look like both abroad and locally. Together, we will explore a variety of ways to reach the lost outside the church walls and how to express that passion no matter where you are today. Join us to discover what it means to live on mission!

Amanda Butcher
MomLIFE at CareNet Lead:
Amanda is a devoted wife and mother of three wonderful children. After dedicating her life entirely to God in her early twenties, she has had the honor of serving Him as a foreign missionary alongside her family in Mexico and Guatemala, as well as being a foster mother to over 25 children in the U.S. Her life's mission is to reach the lost and share the hope that only God can offer to the hopeless.

It’s [Inter]personal: Our Calling Carried Out Through Healthy Communication

We are called to love, serve, and build up those around us—but how we communicate can either strengthen or hinder that calling. In this session, we will explore how biblical principles and interpersonal communication skills work together to help us navigate relationships with wisdom and grace. Come discover how your calling can be lived out through the way you connect, listen, and respond to others.

Dr. Sarah Varga, Ph.D., Interpersonal Communication, The University of Texas at Austin:    As a Christ follower, Sarah is called to love God and love others, and this translates into her life’s mission to develop meaningful relationships and to help others do the same. She holds a Ph. D in Communications Studies and is a lecturer in interpersonal communication, nonverbal communication, and professional communication at Baylor University. When not on campus, Sarah can usually be found with her husband Josef and their four kids at Fellowship Bible Church where Josef serves on the staff team, or home with their dog Mozart (aka “Mozzie”), being active outdoors and in, reading all sorts of fiction, enjoying the fine arts, including food in every activity, making up songs about everything, and laughing…a lot.
