Debbie is originally from Collierville, Tennessee (near Memphis). She and Andy moved to Waco in 2018 and began attending Fellowship. She started working at the church in April, 2019. During the Covid pandemic of 2020, she and Andy both began working remotely from home. With Andy's job continuing to be remote-based, they chose to return to Tennessee to be closer to family. They now live in East Tennessee in the small town of Athens and Debbie continues to work remotely for the church in her job as Communications Coordinator.
Debbie graduated from Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis) with a B.S. in Education and a B.A. in English. She taught 8th grade English for several years before leaving to spend more time at home with her daughters. During this time, she worked as a Jazzercise instructor and as a part-time bookkeeper for several small businesses. Before moving to Waco, she worked as a Worship Ministry Administrative Assistant at Collierville First Baptist Church in Collierville, Tennessee.
Debbie and Andy have been married for 37 years. They have two daughters: Alyssa, who lives with her husband Andrew and 1 year-old daughter, Ashlyn, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Nora, who lives with her husband Hunter in Athens, Tennessee. Nora and Hunter are expecting their first child, a boy, in June 2024.
Debbie's hobbies and interests include reading, knitting, crocheting, and cheering for her Memphis Tigers!
Little known fact: Debbie played soccer for many years, participating in adult leagues until she was almost 40 and was forced to quit due to recurring ankle injuries.
