How can a person truly come to know joy? Many people search for joy in the things of this world, only to find that their efforts have left them feeling empty. When these false sources of genuine joy fail, such as money, success, status, and achievement, the soul is left thirsty for real joy and abiding peace and contentment. This is why the Book of Philippians is foundational to the faith of every believer in Christ, because it reveals how we can know real joy and experience a lifetime of gladness in our souls. This fall season, our entire church is going on the journey of joy in Christ! We’ll begin a new sermon series in the book of Philippians on August 31 and our Bible study groups will dig deeper into Philippians in a weekly study time. We invite you to join a Bible study group as we grow together! There is no cost for this study.

Ditch pressure for freedom in Christ! Though the world around us may have critical expectations and rules for mothering, Christ instead calls moms to an intimate, abiding relationship with a triune God. In Motherhood Without All the Rules, Maggie Combs identifies the main “rules” moms today often feel pressured to follow and counters them with gospel truth. Join Maggie in forgetting the rules, so that instead of being a good mom, you grow to become a holy mom.

Seeking help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend? Fellowship would like to help you walk through this time, and we encourage you to attend GriefShare®, a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life. This group provides a warm, caring environment in which to work through the grief process. There is a workbook fee of $20 (scholarships are available) and childcare is provided. Brian and Erin Davis will host the Journey of Generosity class, which will be held on Friday evening October 10, from 6:00-9:00pm, and Saturday morning, October 11, from 9:00am-Noon. Journey of Generosity, sponsored by generousgiving.org, is a journey together to discover God’s desire for our lives related to generosity. Our primary motivation is to see people liberated to live and give in God’s image in order to see God’s kingdom come on earth. More details are available on our website at fellowshipwaco.org/equip.
